Hi Drew, as you know is with sad regret we report the murder of our much loved Ruby (14 Months) she and her partner Cleo (6 Years) were poisoned with injections of insulin directly into their mussel, any other way of administered / injected / ingestion would have had no effect on them other than vomiting. If any readers of this book suspect that their dog/s have been poisoned, showing signs of fits / seizures, totally non responsive, they should get their vet to check their blood sugar levels first. As a last resort, as to what was wrong with our two dogs out vet checked their blood sugar levels and found severely low blood sugar levels. She immediately administered ‘’’’ via an IV Line and after 8 hours Cleo showed signs of maintaining her own blood sugar levels. At First it was thought the dogs had ingested some form of poison, but it was in fact direct injection on Insulin, deliberate and terminal if un-treated after a window of 18-36 hours. Police have warned us that it may be as a prelude to a burglary. Most poisons given to dogs like antifreeze in their water busked will result in vomiting, blood in the vomit etc, but none of this was present in ours. Owners should visit this site which will help you understand the effects on their dog. http://www.canine-epilepsy-guardian-angels.com/hypoglycemia.htm I hope this may be helpful to someone as if know to us, Ruby would still be with us.
